These joysticks are made by Sanwa and regarded by many as the best arcade joysticks available. They are used in some Japanese cabinets such as the Sega Naomi and are virtually indestructible.

They feature a metal universal mounting bracket, which ensures they will fit into the existing control panel of your cabinet without having to drill extra holes. They have a light spring pressure for really fast movements.

They can be easily swapped between 8-way and true 4-way mode by rotating the restrictor plate at the bottom of the assembly. You can also increase the spring pressure by removing and stretching the spring, which is accessed by undoing the 4 screws at the top of the mounting plate.

Another nice feature is the long switch actuators which allow exact “tuning” of the switch sensitivity with careful use of long-nosed pliers.

Joysticks come with a dust disc and your choice of colour in either a ball or bat top.

*PLEASE NOTE* Not all Joystick Top colours perfectly match button colours. If a close/perfect colour match is important then you may wish to check with us before ordering to avoid disappointment!
In addition, the Bat Tops (which are original Sanwa items) use a larger thread than the balls, so we fit them with a nylon sleeve so they can be fitted to all our joysticks.

Joystick Mounting

For mounting joysticks into a timber panel, we prefer the “blind mounting” method which involves screwing the mounting plate of the joystick to the underside of the control panel. This leaves the top of your control panel ‘clean’ and it means your hand can rest on the panel without it rubbing across bolt heads. We use 6g 12mm Pan Head screws for this task, which you can purchase from us as Joystick Mounting Screws.

For metal panels, or timber panels thinner than 12mm, we recommend using our Joystick Mounting Bolts.

**NOTE: These are a very good quality COPY of the popular Sanwa JLF Joystick – they are NOT GENUINE! – comes with Wiring Loom and your choice of ball/bat colour.

The Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick is the “go to” stick for devotees of beat-em-ups, as well as Japanese style arcade cabinets in which they were/are often used as standard equipment.

As pointed out, these are NOT ORIGINAL Sanwa joysticks, however they are an extremely good quality replica and offer all the functionality the JLF is renowned for. They are of surprisingly good quality (if they were rubbish we wouldn’t sell them!) and therefore great value for the price.

They feature a metal universal mounting bracket, which ensures they will fit into the existing control panel of your cabinet without having to drill extra holes. They have a light spring pressure for really fast movements. It is possible to remove the mounting plate and secure the joystick in place using mounting holes in the plastic assembly – this greatly reduces the footprint of the joystick making them perfect to use where space is at a premium.

They can be easily swapped between 8-way and true 4-way mode by rotating the inner ring of the restrictor plate at the bottom of the assembly.

Wiring is also very easy – simply plug the Wiring Harness into the circuitboard on the base of the joystick, then it can be wired to whatever interface or wiring loom you like with a minimum of fuss.

Joysticks come with a dust disc and your choice of colour in either a ball or bat top. Also included is a short Wiring Harness which hooks up to the joystick’s 5-pin interface.

*PLEASE NOTE* Not all Joystick Top colours perfectly match button colours. If a close/perfect colour match is important then you may wish to check with us before ordering to avoid disappointment!

These are the LONG shaft type.

These joysticks are a very close copy of a model made by Seimitsu who, like Sanwa, are reknowned for making top quality products.

They feature a metal universal mounting bracket and high density plastic housing which results in a joystick with a precise solid feel. Just like our Sanwa sticks they have reasonably light spring pressure. The balltop unscrews from the top of the shaft to make it easy for the joysticks to be mounted underneath your control panel. In addition these have a longer shaft that the Sanwa which makes them preferable to use in a thick timber panel.

The green restrictor plate can be removed completely or its position altered to set the joystick for 2, 4, or 8 way operation. They are shipped with the restrictor in the 8-way position.

Other features in common with the JS01 are that the joystick can be disassembled for the spring to be stretched and increase the spring pressure and also for “tuning” of microswitch sensitivity by bending their metal levels.

In all these are a very nice joystick for the price, with some unique features.

Joysticks come with a dust disc and your choice of colour in either a ball or bat top.

*PLEASE NOTE* Not all Joystick Top colours perfectly match button colours. If a close/perfect colour match is important then you may wish to check with us before ordering to avoid disappointment!

They are super easy to fit – just remove the ball from the shaft of your joystick, screw on the extension then screw the ball back on and you’re done!

**Note that these do not fit the older style Sanwa JLW Bat Top joysticks, as they had a larger diameter shaft and used a different sized thread. As always, ask us before purchasing if you’re not sure.

Read product description for important information.

These joystick tops suit all joysticks that we sell, as well as quite a few other joysticks on the market. They’re perfect to use if you want to “colour code” your joysticks to the buttons for each player or if you just want to be different.

They have a threaded sleeve moulded into them and they simply screw onto to top of the joystick shaft, which makes then extremely easy to install or swap.

IMPORTANT

The Bat Tops (which are original Sanwa items) use a larger thread to the Ball Tops, so we fit them with a nylon sleeve so they can then screw onto any of our joysticks.

Not all Joystick Top colours perfectly match button colours. If a close/perfect colour match is important then you may wish to check with us before ordering to avoid disappointment!

These are ‘mushroom’ headed bolts that are perfect for mounting joysticks into any type of panel. Just drill a 5mm hole and you’re done.

They have a very low profile head and a square shank and unlike any other bolts available in Australia they have NO BRANDING on the head! The bolts are lightly chromed so they won’t tarnish however if you prefer the “worn out” or anodized look it’s easy enough to sand them and spray on a couple of coats of coloured paint.

A Set of 4 6g X 12mm Pan Head Screws

These screws provide the perfect way to “blind mount” your joysticks into a timber panel.

Just drill pilot holes into the bottom of the panel and secure the screws which will then hold your joystick(s) in the control panel. They work particularly well in MDF panels, allowing you to mount your joysticks and leave the top of the panel with a nice clean look.

We have mounted literally hundreds of joysticks using this method over the years and not a single customer has reported any issues as a result, so we know it works well!
